Yes, the rumors are true. A food hall is set to open in Beacon (as if we needed more of a reason to prove that Beacon is the Brooklyn of the Hudson Valley).
Coming soon to Dutchess County, Hudson Valley Food Hall promises to rival Dekalb Market Hall or Manhattan’s Chelsea Market right here in our own backyard. Unlike those Big Apple foodie paradises, however, this one spotlights Hudson Valley makers, history, and culture all in one place.
Hudson Valley Food Hall mixes local dishes, regional art, looks to open before Christmas
On one hand, Marko Guzijan saw a need for a space catering to the remote workers in the City of Beacon. On the other, Guzijan saw an opportunity to create a culinary tourism destination within the city.
At the crossroads of these two ideas is Hudson Valley Food Hall, a more than $500,000 project to covert the former Roosevelt Theater in Beacon into a multivendor food hall and art installation.

BEACON, NY, September 9 – A group of partners have been transforming the former Roosevelt Theater (288 Main Street, Beacon) into a 3600 sq ft food hall. Beacon native Marko Guzijan along with high school classmates David Guy Levy and Morgan Conrad have been planning the project for almost 9 months, construction began this past August. With a projected winter opening, applications for vendors is underway, taking careful consideration to keep local chefs and restaurateurs in the highly curated group.
When Guzijan moved back to Beacon post college in New York City and working abroad, his high school friends visited the town often.
